Solar Photovoltaic

Building Energy did a great job from start to finish designing and installing my 5.5 kW PV-system. I have been extremely pleased with the system.” David Wilkens Stowe, VT

Solar electric systems, also called Photovoltaic or PV systems, use the sun's energy as a renewable source of electricity. Light energy is converted to electrical energy in the individual PV cells. This electrical energy is then stored in batteries or delivered directly to the utility grid through an inverter.  What could be more satisfying than watching your electric meter run backwards when you sell your excess energy back to the utility!

With no moving parts and nothing to wear out, our solar PV systems will deliver clean, renewable energy for decades.

The Benefits Of Solar

  • Electricity cost remains constant over the lifetime of the system (30+ years).
  • Excess electricity is fed back into the utility grid and "sold" to the electrical utility.
  • Reduces the overall cost of electricity provided by the utility company.
  • Tax incentives and rebates are available from Federal and State programs.
  • Increases the value of your home.
  • Highly reliable and needs little maintenance.
  • An environmentally responsible renewable resource.
  • Produces zero carbon dioxide.
