Super Efficient Windows
Energy efficient windows, doors, and skylights can help lower a home’s heating, cooling, and lighting costs. We represent industry leading manufacturers of “warm edge technology” making super efficient windows. These super efficient windows combine durability and performance with beauty and value. The end result is significant savings of energy and money. We have samples from both companies in our showroom.
What Makes A Window Energy Efficient?
Two panes of glass with an air or gas filled space in between, insulate much better than a single pane of glass. Triple pane windows provide even greater energy efficiency, impact resistance and sound insulation.
Special coatings reflect infrared light, keeping heat inside in winter and outside in summer. They also reflect damaging ultraviolet light, which helps protect interior furnishings from fading.
The most energy efficient windows have argon or krypton gas between the panels. These odorless, colorless, non-toxic gases insulate better than regular air.
Warm Edge Spacers
A spacer keeps a window’s glass panes the correct distance apart. Today’s warm edge spacers reduce heat flow and prevent condensation.
Improved Frame Materials
Wood composites, vinyl and fiberglass frames reduce heat transfer and help insulate better.
