Examples of our work:
Rutland Dental Facility
This new dental office uses 50% of the electricity commonly utilized by dental offices through incorporation of a super efficient esterior shell with R-20 concrete foundation, R-22 walls with thermal breaks on all framing, R-75 sttic insulation, and triple low-e glazing on all windows. Other energy efficient features include high efficiency hot water production, advanced heat and air conditioning design and duct distribution, and a highly efficient heating system. Future installion of solar trackers was provided for in the design of the building.
Williston Passive Solar Home

This passive solar home in Williston was designed and built by Northeast Construction/Building Energy in 2006 with a family desiring a highly efficient home in mind. The house received a 5+ star rating from ENERGY STAR and was rated as one of the most energy efficient houses in Vermont at the time. Thos 3000 square foot home was built with highly efficient insulation, energy recovery ventilation, ENERGY STAR appliances, propane fired boiler, in-direct hot water heaterm and energy efficient lighting. The passive solar design incorporates overhangs to shield the house from summer sun and physical orientation to maximize heat gains from the winter sun.
Burlington Energy Rehab
Winner of Efficiency Vermont Best of Best Award for a major renovation in 2012. This 1736 square feet house was built in 1859 with local materials. This project features complete interior and exterior renovation saving over 70% of energy consumption: remove old plaster, roofing and siding, and doors and windows. The entire structure and part of the foundation was renovated: ICF foundation blocks, spray foam and cellulose insulation with rigid foam thermal break over the studs, careful and meticulous reflashing and residing and new windows to meet historic standards, highly efficient appliances, lighting, hot water , heat, and heat recovery ventilation. Champlain Center for Natural Medicine
Efficiency Vermont Best of Best Award Honorable Mention for Commercial rehab projects: This 60 year old, 2,245 square foot building received a c
omplete restructuring of the thermal envelop reducing energy consumption by over 74%. Some of the energy upgrades included spray foaming the walls and foundation, dense packing and loose filling the attic with cellulose, adding wind wash blocks at the eaves, replacing windows and doors, and new kitchens, baths and interior finishes.
